CRICKET legends Phil Tufnell and Henry Blofeld have given their support to a club battling for survival.
It comes as a YouTube video has been produced to champion the cause of Charlton Kings Cricket Club.
Former England star Tufnell and renowned commentator Blofeld have both backed the club by following it on Twitter.
And marketing expert Julian Wellings has made a video highlighting the importance of the club in the community to encourage people to donate to the 100-year-old organisation.
The club is embroiled in a bitter legal battle with Cheltenham widow Jacki Mitchell, who claims one fifth of its Ryeworth Fields ground belongs to her family.
So far the club has racked up more than £120,000 in legal costs fighting Ms Mitchell, and a similar amount is needed to continue the battle at the High Court in London, with the next hearing expected to take place in June.
Charlton Kings CC, which trains 170 young cricketers and has 250 members in total, will "almost certainly" go out of business should they be bowled out by Ms Mitchell's legal claim.
Cricket development officer Geoff White said: "Henry Blofeld has just followed us on Twitter this morning, as is Phil Tufnell, so it's great to have their support."
Julian's video features interviews with members of the club and has been posted on YouTube to reach as wide an audience as possible.
Geoff said: "The video is fantastic and we cannot thank Julian enough for it.
"We are going to push the video through all social media, like Twitter and Facebook."
At the start of last month, the Echo launched a campaign to support the club, and since then around £3,000 in donations has poured in.
However, Geoff said the organisation would "almost certainly fold" if it failed to raise the money to continue the legal battle or loses the court case.
Julian, who runs his own video and email marketing company, Expertise on Tap,was inspired to help the club after seeing the Echo campaign.
The 55-year-old Bishop's Cleeve resident said: "I'm a volunteer for the East Glos tennis, squash and hockey club so I know how important these clubs are to the community, and I wanted to help."
