Club arranges £1,000 for disabled youngsters

MORE than £1,000 was raised to help severely disabled youngsters across the city.

Members and visitors to Gloucester Flower Club in Barnwood held a special event where they raised money for the James Hopkins Trust last Friday.

Jean Butt, member of the flower club said: "Apart from many and varied stalls we had our demonstrator Sandra Townsend from Tewkesbury. She gave us a most hilarious and entertaining talk which she interspersed with flower arrangements.

Sandra also brought along her nephew, John Eselle, who entertained us with songs from the swinging 60s.

"Altogether everyone who attended had a really good evening's entertainment and to put the icing on the cake we made over £1,000 for the charity."

James Hopkins Trust provides practical help for severely disabled, life-threatened and life-limited children aged five and under with nursing needs.
