PROPER pub grub was on the menu as Gloucester chef Tom Kerridge launched his new TV show last night.
Mr Kerridge, the only British chef to earn two Michelin stars by cooking in a pub, introduced his new series Proper Pub Food, where he shows people how to cook dishes inspired by British pub classics.
His mum Jackie, who lives in Kingsholm, said: "He is the only person in the country with two Michelin stars at his pub the Hand and Flowers in Marlow. I don't know too much about the new show, only what it's called."
In the first episode, Tom who went to Saintbridge School as a child, demonstrated dishes that are perfect for serving up to groups of friends.
During the series, Tom will also be visiting some of his favourite suppliers and pubs, giving tips on how to source fantastic British produce.
The show is on BBC2 at 8.30pm every Monday.
Tom rose to fame on screen during the BBC programme the Great British Menu and he recently appeared on Masterchef too.
