VANDAL Aiden Biddle vented his anger on a children's play area near his home in Minchinhampton, a court learned.
Biddle, 20, who has special educational needs, lost control and took his anger out on the play equipment at The Bulwarks, his lawyer told Stroud Magistrates.
Biddle, from The Tynings in Minchinhampton, admitted approximately £1,000 worth of criminal damage to the children's playground and perimeter fence on July 25.
But the defendant, who attends a specialist residential college outside the area, had taken his court appearance very seriously, his solicitor Kirsty Gordon-Cleaver said.
"He did vent his anger and is now suffering from anxiety as a result of these proceedings," Mrs Gordon-Cleaver said.
"He is currently receiving help with anger issues. He can have these outbursts and needs to seek alternative solutions."
Prosecutor Graham Dono told the hearing the play area on a housing estate was looked after by Minchinhampton Parish Council.
The defendant was seen by three children who were in the playground at the time.
Biddle damaged the fence panels surrounding the play area, Mr Dono said.
"They were ripped down and shattered. The fence was to prevent dogs getting in. The wooden access slope up to the tower unit of the multi-play area was damaged and the roof forced off and thrown over the edge," said Mr Dono.
The chairwoman of the magistrates warned Biddle that he'd committed a very serious offence.
"Little children play in the play area and they enjoy it and to have a big lad like you, who they see as an adult, come in and break it makes them very sad," she said.
Biddle, who had no means with which to meet costs or compensation claims, was conditionally discharged for two years.
