MAGISTRATES banned a drink driver from the roads for three years. After he was caught a second time in 10 years, Michael John Selwyn had his licence taken off him for the minimum period for a repeat offender. Stroud Magistrates' Court heard on Monday, January 27, that Selwyn, 58, of Hatfield Road, Tredworth, was caught by police in his Citroen Berlingo van in Spa Road, Gloucester. "It was just after 11pm on December 6 when they saw a white Citroen Berlingo outside the Baker Street pub," said Theresa Perry, prosecuting. He gave a breath test reading of 52 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms. David Brown, defending, said Selwyn committed the same offence eight years ago and simply miscalculated. He was fined £500 with £135 costs.
