MIKE Tindall will make his 200th Premiership appearance when Gloucester take on Harlequins at Kingsholm on Saturday.
The veteran centre has racked up 114 league matches for the Cherry and Whites since making the switch from Bath, where he amassed 85, in 2005.
That comes on top of a stellar international career where Tindall won 75 England caps and played a central role in the 2003 World Cup triumph.
He is set to line-up alongside Henry Trinder in tomorrow's crunch encounter and director of rugby Nigel Davies has hailed his ongoing contribution,
He said: "It's an amazing achievement and it's not just the fact he could make his 200th appearance but that he's also playing very well. He was outstanding on the weekend against Leicester.
"His influence on the team is very important because they are a young group and we're trying to develop leadership within the group. There's not a lot of natural leaders there but Mike adds a lot of value to the team, a lot of the stuff you don't see in terms of energising and driving the team.
"His own personal performance was very good and if he can maintain those standards, at the age he is, going into his 200th appearance it says a lot about the character of the man."
Tindall was handed a one-year contract as a player-coach last summer but is yet to be offered a new deal and Davies has remained tight-lipped on whether the 35-year-old will be retained.
He said: "I'm sure he will be knocking on my door sooner or later but we have looked at the whole piece and will do what's right for Gloucester."
Davies' immediate focus however remains on securing Gloucester's first league win of 2014. The Cherry and Whites have lost to Saracens, Sale Sharks and Leicester Tigers since to turn of the year but will take huge confidence from the fact that they have not lost to Harlequins at Kingsholm since 1999.
And Davies reckons his side can continue their remarkable streak if they match the fire and passion they produced in last week's slender defeat to Leicester Tigers.
He said: "That kind of thing sometimes has a bearing on the psyche of the team but we know where we are. We showed the level of intensity and intent against Leicester but we have to start getting those snap shots right and take our opportunities.
"We had our chances to put the game to bed but didn't take them and that's probably a sign of where we are. But it's not just attack but defence as well, you cannot afford to switch off against Harlequins
"There's plenty of belief and confidence within the group but we do need that 'W' and Saturday will be very important in achieving that."
Davies is set to make minimal changes to his side, with James Hudson and Gareth Evans likely to return to the pack.
Harlequins could welcome star fly-half Nick Evans back from injury and Davies has pinpointed the former All Black and Nick Easter as the danger men.
Davies added: "Nick Evans is central to them. They are a snap-shot team who take their opportunities with a lot of quick taps and throw-ins.
"He's very good at that, he plays with his head up, has a good skill-set and executes well. We have to keep a close eye on him but they have a lot of quality players and Nick Easter is another who is integral to them."
