Today's (April 21)race, now in its 68th year, saw 24 runners complete the 4.3 mile course, which ran in four laps around Conduit Street and Hatherley Road. Harry Bishop, 18, finished first with a time of 23 mins 17 seconds, with Oliver Starkey coming second. There were also children's races and an Easter bonnet parade. Terry Haines, organiser of the race, said: "We've had great community support and we're very pleased with how the race went. It brings character to the area and we're determined to keep it going." Winner Harry, who came second in the race two years ago, said: "The atmosphere of the race definitely makes you run faster. It's a great race to run in." Councillor Said Hansdot, Sheriff of Barton and Tredworth, said: "The race is really important for bringing the community together and promoting sport and healthy lifestyles."
