Who should replace Manchester United manager David Moyes?
Ashley Powell, Secretary of the Manchester United Supporters' Club, Bristol, Bath and Gloucestershire District, said fans now wanted a manager with real European pedigree.
Top runners in the opinion polls included Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp, the Dutch international coach Louis van Gaal, Real Madrid's Carlo Ancelotti, Laurent Blanc at Paris Saint-Germain and even Jose Mourinho.
"I think the fans' first choice would be Klopp - he's younger than Van Gaal and he's won the German league and taken them to the final of the Champions League Final.
"That's the key now - finding a manager with European pedigree who already has pots on the table. That was a problem with Moyes. He is a nice guy and manager but it's better that he parts company with the club.
"The last straw was the Everton loss at the weekend which meant mathematically we could not qualify for the Champions League next season.
"The club is financially in a position to be out of the competition for one season but not the next one as well.
Ashley said the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson and United's chief executive David Gill at the same time had probably been a step too far for the club.
Some commentators suggest Ferguson's continued involvement with the club may have had a detrimental effect on the team's performance this season.
"He's always there in the background but there has been a mixed reaction to that side of it with come people saying he had a beneficial impact and of course he was involved in picking Moyes."
Ashley said the appointment of Ryan Giggs as interim manager was a risk for the club.
"It's a good move for Giggs in terms of gaining managerial experience but it would be a big risk if they make the appointment permanent at the end of the season.
"What if we are in the same position as we are now? It will be good to have people like Giggs, Scholes and Neville in the club's backroom team - people who know how the club works."Manchester United Supporters Club Bath and Bristol branch
