FACTORY workers in Gloucestershire are likely to feel the full force of job losses at the Swindon Honda car plant.
Many Gloucestershire-based workers were left reeling yesterday as the Japanese firm announced 800 jobs were to go after a slump in European sales.
An anonymous worker from the factory floor said it is the latest devastating blow to strike the company.
"I was shocked to hear about losing 800 jobs. We had a four-month shutdown because of the Japanese tsunami and then the floods in Thailand caused more problems.
"It has been a tough four years."
Honda said individual discussions will be held with workers.
